2 Fall Down

“2 Fall Down,” written by Kenny Simmons and Bobby Wells in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy, is a song born from grief, love, and unshakable resilience. Its lyrics and melody carried the sorrow of a nation while honoring the courage of those who were lost and the strength of those left behind. So moving was its message that New York City’s Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, personally reached out with a letter of gratitude, acknowledging the song’s healing power on behalf of the city. The song became more than music—it was a heartfelt tribute that gave voice to the silent tears of millions.

Through this work, Simmons and Wells not only captured a historic moment in time but also created a timeless anthem of remembrance, unity, and hope.

"BLUE"- 2026 Grammy Consideration

“BLUE” — Written by Kenny Simmons & Joe Morgano
Submitted in the New Age / Traditional Jazz category

“BLUE” was born out of reflection on the struggles, resilience, and quiet strength of people who live through hardship yet never lose their dignity.

The song’s title speaks to both the melancholy of life’s challenges and the calming hope that can still rise from within. Musically, it blends the timeless essence of traditional jazz with a fresh, spiritual sensitivity that invites listeners into a space of healing and contemplation.

For Simmons and Morgano, “BLUE” was written as more than a song—it is a meditation on survival, faith, and the human spirit’s ability to turn sorrow into beauty.

It captures the essence of jazz as storytelling: music that not only entertains but also uplifts, informs, and connects us to each other in our most vulnerable moments.
